MAA needs Your Support. Really! The MAA believes annual membership fees do not have a place in an association founded on goodwill and a desire to maintain a relationship between alumni and their alma mater. We are extraordinarily fortunate because a few individuals donate much of their time and effort at maintaining the organization. Unfortunately 2010 is going to put a severe strain on MAA's meagre finances. As you are aware, Reunion 2010 (Oct. 10) is less than a year away. The MAA is doing all it can to make this reunion different to previous reunions, reaching out to the teaching staff from many years ago to request their attendance and trying to make the reunion especially memorable to alumni from Marist's earlier decades, many of whom will be traveling long distances to help make Reunion 2010 a special one indeed. If you haven't reserved a spot yet, please do so as the venue will only accommodate about 150 persons and we already have about a hundred attendees. We will continue to operate without levying membership fees, but welcome any contribution as it all helps. We would be happy if individual contributions could start from Yen 5,000 but any amount will be gratefully accepted. Contributions can made in yen or dollars, via "furikomi" or wire transfer to the accounts listed at the bottom of the page. Please note that the Mitsui Sumitomo Bank charges a handling fee of 2,500 yen for any wire transfer from an offshore account or check and take this into consideration when making your contribution. To see how we are doing, please visit: MAA prepares an annual financial report which will be emailed to members. Thanking you for your cooperation and support, The MBIS Alumni Committee
